Silverstone is urging F1 fans to avoid missing out on discounted British Grand Prix tickets as it announces its full race schedule for 2010.
Early-bird tickets starting at £37.50 are still available for Friday testing, with entry for Saturday’s qualifying session starting at £52.50 and race day tickets from £115. Three-day tickets start at £130. All can be booked through its website here.
The circuit has released its 2010 events schedule, which includes both national and international racing, on two wheels and four.
Headlining are, of course, July’s British GP – finalised not much more than a month ago after a long period of wrangling and doubts over its future – and MotoGP in June on a newly-configured circuit.
The latter is due to feature stars like Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo battling it out on the new Arena GP Circuit, which organisers say promises to be one of the fastest on the MotoGP calendar.
In May the Northamptonshire venue will be kicking off its season with the FIA GT championships, the only appearance that series is due to make in the UK.
In July the popular Silverstone Classic returns, combining classic cars, historic racing, live music and a funfair. And in August the British F3/GT championship comes to call with the chance to see a whole host of up-and-coming young drivers and potential stars of the future in action as well as marques such as Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini going wheel-to-wheel.
The Silverstone round of the BTCC is at the end of August and will include an air display called Silverstone Air.
And September brings the iconic sportscar race 1000km of Silverstone, part of the Le Mans Series. Taking place over six hours, the event is expected to include British former F1 World Champion Nigel Mansell sharing a car with sons Greg and Leo.
Throw in the UK round of World Series by Renault and the penultimate round of the British Superbike Championship and it should certainly be a month to remember.
The season comes to a close with the Walter Hayes trophy in November, a Formula Ford 1600 event that attracts more than 150 cars, piloted by both established and young drivers. Organisers say that, as an entertaining festival of racing, this event provides a perfect season finale for Silverstone in 2010.
