Anyone with a burning desire to meet the people on the front line of A1GP’s World Cup of Motorsport should get themselves right along to the NEC in Birmingham this weekend.
(You could catch up with Jenson Button, Mark Webber and David Coulthard too, but that’s another story altogether…)
Taking place there is Autosport International – motorsport’s annual trade show and fan event. The first two days are for industry professionals but the doors are due to be thrown open to the public on Saturday and Sunday.

You can check out the British car, currently in fourth place in the standings, by visiting the A1GP stand in Hall 6, stand 6355. On hand for appearances will be GBR drivers Oliver Jarvis, fresh from his F3 victory at the Macau Grand Prix, and colleague Robbie Kerr.
Team GB says the drivers will be interviewed about the series and the final round of the 10-event calendar at Brands Hatch, Great Britain in May as well as being available for photographs and autograph signings.
Big Chris, race track mechanic from the animated children’s television show Roary the Racing Car, and a special Scalextric track featuring A1GP cars will also be on the stand.
The series heads straight from Autosport International to the southern hemisphere for A1GP Taupo, New Zealand, marking the fifth round of the 2007/08 season and the first race of the New Year.
Organisers say the venue will be the setting for the most important environmental initiative in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport’s history.
When the series arrives at Lake Taupo, it will become the first global motorsport body to switch to a 30 per cent biofuel mix.
* The A1GP season finale will be held at the legendary Brands Hatch circuit in Kent on 2-4 May 2008. Check ticket availability here.
Tickets for the three-day event can also be purchased at the show on the A1GP stand.
