It seems a reasonably fair bet that Team GBR will have a running car by the A1GP season finale at Brands Hatch in May 2009 (though not a certainty, given what has happened to Team Pakistan).
So fans may want to get their hands on tickets for the event, due to go on sale tomorrow, with entry available at less than £40 for the whole weekend – although grandstand access and other extras could push the cost higher.
This will be the third time that the Kent circuit has played host to the series, including the inaugural race in September 2005 where 72,000 fans attended.
For this season all entry tickets are set to remain at the same price as in 2008 – a sensible confidence-building move in the face of the problems the troubled series has recently faced.
Organisers say that a new £20 pit and paddock pass has been introduced which includes access to both the GP paddock and the pit lane walkabout.
Tickets, grandstand seating and paddock passes will all be available to purchase from this weekend through the Brands Hatch website.
Katie Clements, GBR team principal, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Brands Hatch for what I’m sure will once again be another brilliant season finale next May.
“Brands Hatch has truly become A1 Team GBR’s home track, and we always have the most fantastic fans flooding into the circuit to support us.
“We have already had three amazing events at Brands Hatch and I’m looking forward to the season four finale being the best yet.”
