Martin Brundle’s partnership with fellow F1 veteran Mark Blundell has been dissolved in the face of his new commitments as a BBC commentator and manager to his son Alex.
Blundell will continue to run 2MB Sports Management Ltd, the Hertfordshire-based company that continues to represent drivers including Gary Paffett and Mike Conway.
Brundle, however, will have his hands full with his new BBC role and with plotting out the career of 18-year-old Alex, due to spend 2009 competing in the new Formula 2 series.
He will also no longer have the responsibility of acting as agent to David Coulthard, following the retirement of that driver from competitive racing at the end of the 2008 season.
Brundle said that this was “the right moment to review my future plans” and, most intriguingly of all: “I still have a desire to drive competitively again if the right opportunities arise.”
Blundell added: “I now have more time to dedicate to the business and I look forward to taking on some new drivers.”
