Adam Carroll has managed a second podium in two days by finishing third in the Turkish GP2 sprint race – results that have left him optimistic for the rest of the season.
He goes into Monza in third place in the championship, despite having not driven at the first three venues of the season.
The race was won in dominating style by Timo Glock, who regains the championship lead that he lost the previous day.
Carroll said after the race: “I’ve had a podium here every year – if you’ve got the car it’s good here. It’s a real driver’s circuit with both high speed corners and low speed corners.
“It’s hot too, so it’s a good test for everybody. The long turn in is a good one to just keep it in there, and I had a good balance so I was very, very fast in both races through there.
“And the team has worked very hard: we’ve got five podiums, two wins, a second and two thirds, so it’s pretty good considering. More points for the championship, and then we go to Monza which is another good circuit, we had a good set up last year and hopefully we’ll do the same.”
