Oliver Jarvis, winner of the 2005 British Racing Drivers Club Young Driver of the Year Award, has finally been able to cash in his prize of a test drive in a McLaren.
Both Jarvis, who was recently confirmed as the driver of the British A1GP entry at the next race in Malaysia, and 2004 prizewinner Paul di Resta will do about 20 laps of the Silverstone circuit in a McLaren Mercedes MP4-21 today, November 6th.
The tests come at a time when McLaren is actively in the driver market, although there is no suggestion that they are anything other than the fulfilment of the prize which forms part of the BRDC award.
McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa will be on hand throughout the day to give what the team describes as “advice and driving tips”.
No word from Woking on whether that includes advice on the best way to store incriminating emails…
