There was one nice moment in FIA president Max Mosley’s recent splenetic outburst against Lewis Hamilton, McLaren and anyone else with the audacity to believe Ferrari shouldn’t just be handed the drivers’ and constructors’ trophies on the podium in Albert Park next spring.
Since we extensively reported his negative comments about the Boy Wonder, it appears to us only fair that we should get the balance right by including his sole positive one. Here it is:
He’s also got a lot of interest worldwide because he’s come manifestly not from a rich background. He’s just made it.
We couldn’t agree more and, in a world that’s populated by the offspring of Rosberg, Hill, Villeneuve and Piquet, it really is a breath of fresh air.
In fact, it reminds us mostly of David Coulthard, whose dad ran a haulage firm back in Scotland – and which, as he once said in an interview, was very nearly his career as well.
