A1GP: Brits ramp up preparations for new season

,

Both Team GBR drivers are looking forward to their final opportunity to get to grips with their car before the A1GP season starts in the Netherlands in a fortnight’s time.

Oliver Jarvis and Robbie Kerr will both drive at the Silverstone test on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, but the team’s aim is to put its entire crew through their paces.

The team believes that, with a modified qualifying format this year and a feature race that will now include two mandatory pit stops, the performance of the pit crew will be even more important in determining race success than in previous years.

Jarvis, who will drive in the season opener at Zandvoort on September 30, said: “It’s good to get a second run in the car ahead of the season opener in just under two weeks time, and a valuable opportunity to spend more time reacquainting myself with the team.”

Kerr has a little longer to acclimatise as he must wait for the second race in Brno, in the Czech Republic, before he can drive the car in anger.

He said: “It’s great to get more running in the British A1GP car before Brno, and drive it for the first time in its new livery.

“I’m confident that, as in the previous test, the team will work well together to gather all the information we need in preparation for Zandvoort and Brno.”
